(google search for his legs doesn't offer much insight unfortunately) :(

no idea if that'll help or not lol, she may have to go to a library to see if she can find books with artwork on him?

in that study the legs look fine Endless.. but cant tell if they are in proportion...wish i could show ya the tapestry thing...it's weird looking.

I thought it may be because he has wings and doesn't need to walk.

but actually it's the length of the leg bones that are shorter..not muscle wastage...so hmmmmm.

it could be the person who originally did the tapestry had a thing for scrawny wee legs? ^_^   what or who is she reproducing it for? maybe she should consult the end user to see what they want? (unless ofc it has to be an exact reproduction)

well if it is an italian artists maybe its because he sits in a boat all day an rows. if it is an artist from spain maybe he did not wish to make the feet too big. which peice was it?

St Michael is standing on a cloud, gazing upwards with scales in left hand and sword in his right. Wearing a tunic showing shortened legs beneath.

He looks pretty chillaxed in this one...no sword fighting or any shenanigans of the sort.

yeh, i think i get your point tho but I wondered if the meaning behind the shortened limbs might have been more than a geographic/cultural thing...

For idle hands to do. ~Isaac Watts

A person that is lazy and without purpose (bored, empty), is easily seduced by the Devil (ex. a person of bad influence) to do things that are a harm to himself and/or others.
